Trailer for Netflix's Dark Korean Mystery Thriller Series MASK GIRL
Netflix has released a trailer for its upcoming dark Korean mystery thriller Mask Girl. I’ve been watching a lot of Korean films and TV shows recently, and they have a lot of great content! This new series coming out looks like it tells an intriguing story.
Mask Girl follows an office worker “who is insecure about her looks and becomes a masked internet personality by night — until a chain of ill-fated events overtakes her life.” The trailer features the character taking a dark turn, as she appears to take three lives. The tagline for the movie reads: “3 Names, 3 Lives, 3 Murders.”
The masked model finds herself in a downward spiral and she becomes a prisoner and she secretly plots her escape. The show cast three different actors Ko Hyun-jang, Nana, and a newcomer who hasn’t been revealed yet, to play the Kim Mo-mi character in her different evolutions.
The rest of the cast includes Ahn Jae-hong, “who portrays another office denizen whose only pleasure is watching internet broadcasts after work and is the first to realize that Mask Girl may be his co-worker Kim Mo-Mi.” Then there’s Yeom Hye-ran, “portraying a mother who is hell-bent of finding the son around whose life her own revolves.”
Mask Girl is written and directed by Kim Yong-Hoon, and he describes the three characters as “injured, marginalized individuals,” who are each “tangled in the web of a murder.”
Mask Girl premieres August 18th on Netflix.
