Trailer for Netflix's Film Adaptation of Jane Austen's PERSUASION Starring Dakota Johnson

Netflix has released the first trailer for its film adaptation of Jane Austen’s Persuasion, and it stars Dakota Johnson, who takes on the role of Anne Elliot. This looks exactly like what you’d expect from a film adaptation of a Jane Austen novel, and it looks like a decent and delightful film.

In the movie, “Living with her snobby family on the brink of bankruptcy, Anne Elliot is an unconforming woman with modern sensibilities. When Frederick Wentworth—the dashing one she once sent away—crashes back into her life, Anne must choose between putting the past behind her or listening to her heart when it comes to second chances. Adapted from the Jane Austen novel.”

The film also has a great supporting cast that includes Cosmo Jarvis, Richard E. Grant, Henry Golding, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Mia McKenna-Bruce, Ben Bailey-Smith, Yolanda Kettle, Nia Towle, and Izuka Hoyle.

The movie was directed by Carrie Cracknell, who is making her feature directorial debut after directing for the stage. Persuasion will be released on Netflix on July 15th, 2022.
