Trailer for Netflix's Horror Film FEVER DREAM Tells a "Haunting Story of Obsessive Jealousy, an Invisible Danger"
Netflix has released a trailer for a new mystery horror film titled Fever Dream. The movie was shot in Chile, and the story centers on a woman named Amanda who lies in pain, far from home in an Argentine village. It’s there she is visited by a young boy named David who questions her, and is trying to make her remember what happened to her.
It’s explained that “She’s not his mother, he’s not her son. As her time is running out, he helps her unravel a powerful, haunting story of obsessive jealousy, an invisible danger, and the power of a mother’s love for her child.”
Here’s the synopsis for the film:
Told from a decidedly feminine perspective, this hallucinatory tale explores the interconnected nature of love and fear in motherhood. A woman named Amanda vacations in a sleepy Argentine village with her young daughter Nina. Ever-concerned with her daughter's welfare, Amanda constantly calculates the "rescue distance" needed to protect her child. She soon discovers that things around her are not as they seem. A local boy named David interrogates Amanda, as she struggles to make sense of her surroundings. The beauty of the bucolic countryside is a striking counterpoint to an eerie story of dark forces, powerful emotions, and pervasive dangers.
The movie was directed by Claudia Llosa (Madeinusa, The Milk of Sorrow, and Aloft), and it’s based on the internationally critically acclaimed novel by Samanta Schweblin. The movie stars María Valverde, Dolores Fonzi, Germán Palacios, Guillermo Pfening, Emilio Vodanovich, Guillermina Sorribes, Marcelo Michinaux, & Cristina Banegas.
Netflix will debut Fever Dream in theaters on October 6th, 2021, and it will go to streaming on October 13th.
