Trailer For Netflix's Pirate Documentary Series THE LOST PIRATE KINGDOM

We don’t really see a lot of pirate content these days. I’ve always enjoyed stories involving pirates, and Netflix is jumping into the world and history of pirates with a new documentary series titled The Lost Pirate Kingdom. While I was hoping that we’d get some kind of new pirate adventure show, this documentary series will have to do for now.

The show is being billed as the true story of the “real” Pirates of the Caribbean, and it comes complete with cheesy re-enactments. In fact, it looks like most of the series will be dramatized re-enactments of pirate stories. Most of the trailer shows off these re-enactments and you’ll also see various experts and academics show up to explain the Pirate history to us.

The Lost Pirate Kingdom description reads: “The real-life pirates of the Caribbean violently plunder the world’s riches and form a surprisingly egalitarian republic.” Some of the historical Pirate figures that the series will cover include Charles Vane, Anne Bonny, and the infamous Blackbeard.

While I’ll be watching this, I do wish that Netflix just would have gone all out and given us an epic high-scale series.

The Lost Pirate Kingdom premieres on Netflix on March 15, 2021.
