Trailer For Nia DaCosta's Prime Period Drama HEDDA Starring Tessa Thompson
A new trailer has been released for the period drama Hedda, from filmmaker Nia DaCosta (Little Woods, Candyman, The Marvels), who directed the pic as well as adapted the screenplay from the play "Hedda Gabler" by Henrik Ibsen. The film stars Tessa Thompson, Imogen Poots, Tom Bateman, Nicholas Pinnock, and Nina Hoss.
The synopsis reads: "Newly wed and precariously dissatisfied with life, Hedda (Tessa Thompson), gun-loving daughter of the late General Gabler, has just convinced her husband George (Tom Bateman), a timid but ambitious scholar, to throw a lavish party the couple cannot afford.
“On the teeming guest list is Eileen Lovborg (Nina Hoss), a celebrated author of a book exploring sexuality — and also George's key rival for a coveted academic post. Hedda sees the guests as pawns in an elaborate game she plans to orchestrate with ruthless precision."
This looks like an interesting film. Thompson is a great actress, and DaCosta has told some good stories in her film history. Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think. Hedda hits Prime Video on October 29th.
