Trailer for Rapman's Netflix UK Superhero Thriller Series SUPACELL

Netflix has released the trailer for a UK superhero thriller series titled Supacell, from creator and showrunner Andrew Onwubolu, who goes by Rapman (Blue Story). Rapman wrote the series, and co-directed with Sebastian Thiel (Dreaming Whilst Black, Just A Couple, Riches).

The series cast includes Tosin Cole as Michael, Nadine Mills as Sabrina, Eric Kofi Abrefa as Andre, Calvin Demba as Rodney, Josh Tedeku as Tazer, Adelayo Adedayo as Dionne, Rayxia Ojo as Sharleen, and Giacomo Mancini as Spud.

The full synopsis reads:

Neflix's Supacell series is about a group of five ordinary people who unexpectedly develop superpowers. They have little in common except for one thing: they are all Black South Londoners. It is down to one man, Michael Lasaki (Tosin Cole), to bring them all together in order to save the woman he loves.

This looks like it might be okay, but it’s hard to tell, and it’s weird that Netflix hasn’t pushed the promotion of the series at all, as this is the first I’ve heard of it. Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think. Watch Supacell on Netflix on June 27th.
