Trailer For Renée Zellweger Judy Garland Biopic JUDY
Roadside Attractions and LD Entertainment have released the first teaser trailer for Renée Zellweger’s Judy Garland biopic Judy.
For those of you who don’t know, Judy Garland led a hell of a hard life filled with a ridiculous amount of abuse from people throughout her life and it all started when she was a kid. It was incredibly tragic and sad and this film should shed some light on some of the stuff she went through.
Zellweger has been out of the spotlight for years. She lost that star power that she once had, but it looks like a film like this could actually reinvigorate her career. It looks like she is going to give an incredible performance. But, we’ll just have to wait and see. I certainly like what I’m seeing from this first trailer!
Here’s the synopsis:
Winter 1968 and showbiz legend Judy Garland arrives in Swinging London to perform in a sell-out run at The Talk of the Town. It is 30 years since she shot to global stardom in The Wizard of Oz, but if her voice has weakened, its dramatic intensity has only grown. As she prepares for the show, battles with management, charms musicians and reminisces with friends and adoring fans, her wit and warmth shine through. Even her dreams of romance seem undimmed as she embarks on a courtship with Mickey Deans, her soon-to-be fifth husband. Featuring some of her best-known songs, the film celebrates the voice, the capacity for love, and the sheer pizzazz of “the world’s greatest entertainer.”
The movie was directed by Tony nominee and two-time Olivier winner Rupert Goold. Zellweger is joined by Finn Wittrock (American Horror Story), Jessie Buckley (Beast), and Michael Gambon (Harry Potter).
The movie will be released in theaters on September 27th.
