Trailer for Romantic Comedy THE HATING GAME Starring Lucy Hale and Austin Stowell
A new trailer has been released for the romantic comedy The Hating Game, starring Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars, Katy Keene) and Austin Stowell (Whiplash, Colossal). The pair are reteaming after having co-starred in the horror flick Fantasy Island last year.
The Hating Game is based on the novel of the same name by Sally Thorne, and it is directed by Peter Hutchings (Then Came You) from a script by Christina Mengert.
Hale and Stowell are joined in the cast by Damon Daunno, Yasha Jackson, Sean Cullen, with Sakina Jaffrey, and Corbin Bernsen.
Here’s the film’s synopsis:
Based on the best-selling book, THE HATING GAME tells the story of ambitious good girl Lucy Hutton and her cold, efficient work nemesis, Joshua Templeton. Committed to achieving professional success without compromising her ethics, Lucy ultimately embarks on a ruthless game of one-upmanship against Josh, a rivalry that is increasingly complicated by her mounting attraction to him.
This looks like a typical rom-com with an ending you’ll see coming from a mile away. Hopefully it has some fun moments along the way though that will keep viewers intrigued. Check out the trailer below, and watch The Hating Game in select theaters and On Demand December 10, 2021.
