Trailer for RUNNER Unleashes Alan Ritchson and Owen Wilson in a High-Speed Action Thriller

The full trailer has dropped for Runner, giving audiences a much better look at the upcoming action thriller starring Alan Ritchson and Owen Wilson.

While the first teaser leaned more into the intense action, this new preview throws a lot more humor into the mix, teasing a buddy-style dynamic between the film's two leads while keeping the life-or-death stakes front and center.

Set against the backdrop of Brisbane, Australia, the city becomes more than just a filming location. It's a major part of the story as Hank Malone races through its streets with only hours to complete an impossible mission.

Ritchson stars as Hank Malone, a former soldier turned elite courier who suddenly finds himself in the fight of his life. Tasked with transporting a donor liver from Brisbane to the Gold Coast, Hank has just three hours to make the delivery.

Unfortunately for him, a ruthless cartel has other plans, turning the trip into an all-out chase where every minute counts. If he fails, an innocent young girl won't survive.

The film's official synopsis reads: "A former soldier is thrown into a brutal race against time when a critical medical delivery makes him the target of a ruthless cartel. With betrayal closing in from every side, he must survive the chase and deliver his cargo before an innocent child runs out of time."

Wilson plays Ben Bishop, who appears to bring plenty of comedic energy to balance the relentless action. The latest trailer definitely leans harder into that lighter side than the original teaser did, giving the movie more of a buddy action-comedy vibe while still delivering explosive shootouts, car chases, and hand-to-hand combat.

The supporting cast includes Rodrigo Santoro, Leila George, Adriana Barraza, Sullivan Stapleton, Peta Sergeant, Geraldine Hakewill, and Goran D. Kleut.

Runner is directed by Scott Waugh, whose previous credits include Act of Valor, Need for Speed, 6 Below: Miracle on the Mountain, Hidden Strike, and The Expendables 4.

The screenplay was written by Miles Hubley and Tommy White, with producers Mark Fasano, Todd Garner, Deborah Glover, Jeffrey Greenstein, and Ritchson helping bring the project to the screen.

The movie was filmed on location throughout Australia last year, making great use of Brisbane and the surrounding areas to create the backdrop for its fast-moving story.

Runner will hit theaters on September 11, 2026. Runner looks like it could deliver a fun mix of explosive action, ticking-clock suspense, and plenty of laughs along the way.
