Trailer For Season 2 of SCHMIGADOON! Takes the Characters Into the Next Era of Musicals Known as Schmicago

A new trailer has been released from Season 2 of the Apple TV+ musical comedy series Schmigadoon!. The first season found the lead characters, Melissa and Josh, played by Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key, “two doctors from New York who go on a backpacking trip when their relationship hits a rough patch and find themselves lost in the town of Schmigadoon — where life is a 1940s-50s musical with songs and characters inspired by Oklahoma! and The Music Man, among others. They can only escape after they find true love, whether that’s with each other or someone else.”

After they do find true love, Season 2 finds Josh and Melissa returning to the allure of the musical land which led them back to one another. But Schmigadoon has turned into Schmicago, the world of ‘60s and ‘70s musicals.

Season 2 also welcomes back Ariana DeBose (West Side Story), Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked), Dove Cameron (Liv and Maddie), Jaime Camil (Jane the Virgin), Alan Cumming (Cabaret), Ann Harada (Smash), Jane Krakowski (30 Rock), Martin Short (Only Murders in the Building), and Aaron Tveit (Gossip Girl, Graceland).

Newcomers to the season include Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Central Park) as the Narrator, and Patrick Page (In the Heights, Spirited) will play Octavius Kratt.

This new season looks fantastic! This is such a funny and well-done series, I can’t wait for it to return. Check out the trailer below, and watch Season 2 of Schmigadoon! kick off on Apple TV+ on April 5th.
