Trailer for Shudder's Weird and Crazy Occult Horror Film HELLBENDER
Shudder has released a trailer for a new horror film coming to their streaming service titled Hellbender. It’s kind of like an occult coming of age story.
The story follows 16-year-old Izzy, who “leads an isolated life on a lonely mountaintop. All she’s learned is from her protective mom and the wilderness that swallows them. Izzy dreams of a live gig, but her mother thinks she’s too sick and mustn’t be around others. Questioning her illness and starved for companionship, Izzy sneaks down the mountain where she befriends brazen Amber. Izzy is in heaven until a cruel drinking game with a live worm unleashes a new kind of hunger.”
The film comes from the upstate N.Y. filmmaker family The Adams, and Hellbender is written, directed, produced, scored, and edited by Toby Poser, John Adams, and Zelda Adams (The Deeper You Dig). They also star in the film alongside Lulu Adams.
Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thrillers and the supernatural, will exclusively premiere the critically acclaimed Shudder Original Hellbender on Thursday, February 24.
