Trailer for STAR WARS: THE HIGH REPUBLIC Wave 3 Teases Dark Time for the Jedi

A trailer has been released for the third wave of stories for Star Wars: The High Republic, and it teases a dark time for the Jedi. Wave 3 will conclude the first phase of this epic saga that Star Wars fans have been enjoying. The trailer came with the following caption:

"It was a golden age of the Jedi and the Republic. It was a time of great peace and prosperity ... but all that will come crashing down. Who will survive when the light of the Jedi goes dark?"

I’m slowly getting through this series, but I’ve enjoyed what I’ve been reading so far. I would actually love to see some of these stories explored in the form of films or series, and it will be with The Acolyte, which is set at the end of The High Republic era.

The High Republic saga covers "a golden time. A time of peace and prosperity. A time when the Jedi really are galactic guardians, stewards of peace and justice." The initiative was also described as the "Jedi Knights of the Round Table" at a time featuring "space Vikings.”

Wave 3 has kicked off with the release of author Claudia Gray's book The Fallen Star, which is available now. The description of that book reads:

Time and again, the vicious raiders known as the Nihil have sought to bring the golden age of the High Republic to a fiery end. Time and again, the High Republic has emerged battered and weary, but victorious thank to its Jedi protectors—and there is no monument to their cause grander than the Starlight Beacon.

Hanging like a jewel in the Outer Rim, the Beacon embodies the High Republic at the apex of its aspirations: a hub of culture and knowledge, a bright torch against the darkness of the unknown, and an extended hand of welcome to the furthest reaches of the galaxy. As survivors and refugees flee the Nihil’s attacks, the Beacon and its crew stand ready to shelter and heal.

The grateful Knights and Padawans of the Jedi Order stationed there finally have a chance to recover—from the pain of their injuries and the grief of their losses. Marchion Ro, the true mastermind of the Nihil, is preparing his most daring attack yet—one designed to snuff out the light of the Jedi.
