Trailer for Steven Soderbergh's Sci-Fi Comedy COMMAND Z Sees Michael Cera on a Mission to Save Humanity
Director Steven Soderbergh has dropped a trailer for a surprise sci-fi comedy series that we had no idea he was making titled Command Z. Michael Cera stars in the series, which takes a post-apocalyptic look back at the year 2023, as he and his team travel back in time into the past by putting a wormhole in a washing machine that allows them to enter the minds of people in the past.
Cera is on a mission to save humanity, and he’s joined in the film by Roy Wood Jr., Chloe Radcliffe, and Liev Schreiber. Soderbergh’s production company Extension 765 revealed the trailer and shared the following note:
“I think by now you’re used to me describing the somewhat mercurial behavior of our boss, Mr/Dr Soderbergh, but this most recent development is next level and can’t be kept to myself for reasons you’ll soon understand…If I seem hedgy, it’s because A) None of us have seen it; and B) it’s apparently about ninety minutes long, but there are eight episodes of varying length, so is it an actual series or just a movie cut up into pieces?”
The trailer for Command Z has not been released on YouTube, the only place you can watch it right now is exclusively through Extension 765, which is a blog/marketplace from Steven Soderbergh, called “Soderblog.”
