Trailer for Taylor Sheridan’s THE MADISON Expands The YELLOWSTONE World with Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell

Paramount+ has released the first teaser for The Madison, the latest series set in the ever-growing world of Yellowstone, and it looks like Taylor Sheridan is shifting gears into something quieter, heavier, and emotionally raw.

The neo-western drama premieres March 14 on the streamer and leans hard into grief, healing, and the pull of wide-open Montana landscapes.

The teaser opens with Michelle Pfeiffer breaking down along the Madison River, collapsing into the water as if she’s reached the end of whatever strength she had left.

The moment cuts to a therapy session with her character trying to put words to that pain. “My center, my soul, is gone.” Her therapist, played by newly revealed cast member Will Arnett, responds with calm precision, “You will heal, if you let yourself.”

The Madison follows the Clyburn family as they move between Manhattan and Montana, with the story rooted in the Madison River valley of central Montana.

According to the official description, the series is a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.” It’s a familiar Sheridan backdrop, but the focus here seems far more internal.

Pfeiffer headlines the series alongside Kurt Russell, marking a heavyweight pairing that elevates the project. The supporting cast includes Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova, and Matthew Fox.

Sheridan created the series and serves as an executive producer through his Bosque Ranch Productions banner.

While The Madison feels like a tonal pivot, it’s still part of a larger franchise strategy. Paramount also has two additional spinoffs in development. The Dutton Ranch will continue the story of Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler from Yellowstone, played by Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, though it doesn’t yet have a release date. Meanwhile, Marshals, previously titled Y Marshals, stars Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton and is set to premiere March 1 on CBS.

The Madison isn’t aiming for spectacle. It’s chasing something more personal, anchored by powerhouse performances and Sheridan’s ongoing fascination with people trying to outrun loss in the American West.
