Trailer For The 4K Remaster of The 1973 Horror Classic THE EXORCIST
Warner Bros. has released a trailer for the upcoming 4K remaster of director William Friedkin’s 1973 terrifying horror classic The Exorcist. This movie scared the living shit out of me when I first watched it when I was 11 or 12 and it seriously messed me up and I probably shouldn’t have watched it when I was that young.
This 4K Ultra HD release is coming in celebration of its 50th anniversary, and it centers on a “charming 12-year-old girl who takes on the characteristics and voices of others, doctors say there is nothing they can do. As people begin to die, the girl's mother realizes her daughter has been possessed by the devil--and that her daughter's only possible hope lies with two priests and the ancient rite of demonic exorcism.”
When this movie was first released in theaters, people were freaking out, fainting, and throwing up. People just weren’t ready for this kind of horror madness at the time. It’s funny watching those old videos of people walking out of the theater after witnessing the most horrifying thing of their lives. It’s still regarded as one of the scariest movies ever made.
The Exorcist stars Ellen Burstyn, Linda Blair, Max von Sydow, Lee J. Cobb, Kitty Winn, Jack MacGowran, and Jason Miller. The screenplay is written by William Peter Blatty, adapting from his own novel of the same name.
Warner Bros will re-release the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray of The Exorcist starting on September 19th.
