Trailer for the '80s-Inspired Werewolf Horror Comedy SHAKY SHIVERS From Director Sung Kang
Here’s a fun trailer for a campy ‘80s-inspired werewolf horror comedy creature feature titled Shaky Shivers. The movie was actually directed by Fast and Furious star Sung Kang, who played Han, and this seems like a very surprising project from him, but I dig it!
This is Kang’s features film directorial debut, and in the film, “After finding herself bitten by a mysterious animal, Lucy becomes convinced that she will transform into a fearsome werewolf. Joined by her best friend Karen, the two embark on a wild adventure filled with magic and mayhem, as they look to do battle with a throat-slashing creature ripped right out of an 80s horror movie.“
Kang shot the film at a shuttered Girl Scout camp, and it’s said that the film features “a thrilling monster mash” that “captures the spirit of the ’80s classics that Kang grew up adoring. Kang said in a statement: “The whole idea was to make this for the old-school horror hounds and for them to share it with their families today.”
Brad Miska, Managing Director of Bloody Disgusting/Cinedigm: “This campy film transports us back to an era when spooky tales were shared by flashlight during slumber parties. Sung Kang’s directorial debut promises a truly unique and thrilling experience for fans. With its eclectic mix of quirky humor, chilling moments, monstrous creatures, and a captivating throwback atmosphere, fans are in for one hell of an experience.”
The movie was written by Andrew McAllister and Aaron Strongoni, and the film stars Brooke Markham (In the Dark) and VyVy Nguyen (The Sympathizer). The movie opens in theaters for one night only on September 21 from Fathom Events and Bloody Disgusting’s SCREAMBOX.
