Trailer For The 80s Throwback Summer Camp Slasher Horror Film FINAL SUMMER
If you're a fan of 80s slasher horror movies, I’ve got a trailer here that you might be interested in checking out. The film is titled Final Summer, and it’s a throwback summer camp slasher that finds a group of camp counselors who find themselves fighting to survive as a masked killer is on the loose.
While the movie is inspired by 80s slasher movies, the story for it is set in the 90s. The synopsis for the film reads:
We head back to 1991, after a long summer of fun and games at Camp Silverlake in the woods, where organizers are preparing to shut down the camp after the final season before it is sold off to developers. But there's something – or someone – waiting in the darkness to exact bloody revenge on the unsuspecting campers. Who is the masked menace and what do they want? Heat turns to horror in Final Summer – an old-school style, endlessly entertaining horror, with bucketloads of blood, jump scares and no shortage of macabre murders.
The film just looks like your regular formula slasher movie. It doesn’t seem like there’s anything unique or interesting about it, but the trailer doesn’t really offer many story details. Maybe there’s more to it than meets the eye. The trailer basically offers a scary campfire story of the killer’s past.
The movie was written and directed by John Isberg, who’s making his directorial debut. It stars Thom Mathews, Bishop Stevens, Carl Bailey, Seth Boyer, Nora Yates, Jace Jamison, and Jessica Kadish.
Final Summer will debut on VOD in the UK starting September this fall. There’s no word on when it will be released in the US.
