Trailer For The Australian Dark Comedy Crime Thriller BOY SWALLOWS UNIVERSE

Netflix has released a trailer for a wild-looking Australian dark comedy crime thriller titled Boy Swallows Universe. The movie is set in the 80s in Australia and it tells the coming-of-age story of a boy named Eli and his selectively mute brother who embark on a suburban odyssey of love, redemption, and retribution after their family is torn apart by a drug lord. This looks like a really good movie that might be worth checking out!

The synopsis for the film reads: “Crime, drugs, danger and a whole lotta hope. Adapted from Trent Dalton's iconic novel, the series tells the story of a boy doing his best to hold his fractured family together in Brisbane in the 80s. Starring Phoebe Tonkin, Travis Fimmel and Bryan Brown, Boy Swallows Universe shows what happens when boyhood innocence collides with the brutal adult world.”

The movie stars Felix Cameron as Eli, Travis Fimmel as Lyle Orlik, Simon Baker as Robert Bell, Phoebe Tonkin as Frances Bell, along with Zac Burgess, Lee Tiger Halley, Bryan Brown, Anthony LaPaglia, and Sophie Wilde.

The movie comes from writer and director John Collee, writer of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, Happy Feet 1 & 2, Son of a Gun, and The Patriarch. Boy Swallows Universe will be released on Netflix on January 11th, 2024.
