Trailer for the Babysitter Horror Film NIGHT OF THE REAPER
Shudder is bringing the babysitter horror vibes just in time for spooky season with the upcoming thriller Night of the Reaper. Directed by Brandon Christensen, this chilling throwback is set in a quiet 1980s suburb where things quickly spiral into blood-soaked chaos.
After the brutal murder of a teenage babysitter, college student Jessica Clement plays Deena, who returns home for the weekend and reluctantly agrees to a last-minute babysitting gig. But when the local sheriff receives a disturbing package, it becomes clear the murder wasn’t a one-off.
The trailer teases a twisted scavenger hunt that leads the sheriff on a dangerous trail, uncovering a killer who might be setting the stage for another gruesome act.
As the synopsis reveals, “In the heart of a quiet, 1980s suburb, college student Deena returns home and reluctantly takes on a last-minute babysitting job.
“That same night, the local sheriff receives a cryptic package that pulls him into a sinister scavenger hunt that sets off a game of cat & mouse with a dangerous killer.

Night of the Reaper is written by Brandon Christensen and Ryan Christensen, and the cast also includes Matty Finochio, Ryan Robbins, Summer H. Howell, Max Christensen, Ben Cockell, and Bryn Samuel.
Whether it reinvents the slasher genre or just adds another scream to the pile, fans can judge for themselves when the film hits Shudder on September 19th, 2025.
