Trailer For The BATMAN AND BILL Doc Explores Truth Behind Batman's Mysterious Co-Creator
There's a new documentary coming to Hulu that Batman fans are going to want to check out! It's called Batman and Bill, and today we have the first trailer for you to watch. The doc explored the truth behind the mysterious origin of Batman's creation.
I'm sure a lot of hardcore fans already know about the story of Batman co-creators Bob Kane and Bill Finger, but there are probably a lot of people who aren't familiar with Bill Finger, because he's never mentioned as being a creator of the legendary hero.
Batman and Bill will tell the story of Batman's forgotten creator and the controversy surrounding the credit between Bob Kane and Bill Finger. In case you're wondering what the Batman universe might look like without Finger's involvement in the creation of the universe we wouldn't have characters like Robin, Joker, The Riddler, Catwoman, Scarecrow, Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Gotham City and Batman.
So yeah... the guy is a pretty big deal, but he kind of got screwed over when Kane first signed over the rights to Batman to National Comics, which is now DC Comics. In that deal, he required a mandatory byline of his name for all works related to Batman. Finger hasn't been acknowledged as a creator in anything until he received a credit on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Gotham Season 2. He also received his first formal comic book credit for Batman in 2015.
There's a fascinating story to tell here and we'll see it explored in this new documentary, which is set to be released on May 6th.
