Trailer For The Chinese Remake of Roger Corman's SHARKTOPUS

Back in 2010, Roger Corman produced a SYFY original movie titled Sharktopus and it centered around a creature that was half shark and half octopus that would wreak havoc. That movie spawned two sequels with Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda in 2014 and Sharktopus vs. Whalewolf in 2015.

Well, Sharktopus is getting a remake thanks to China and the first trailer for the remake has been unleashed, and it looks as good as you’d expect it to be!

In the film, “The endless sea, the moving luxury cruise ships and the people celebrating in a carnival atmosphere. What seems to be an extremely calm and ordinary night is actually an undercurrent: beware of sneak attacks with tentacles because corners are difficult to hide in and the bloodthirsty monster Sharktopus is hunting humans…”

The movie was directed by Xu Shi-Xing and Hu Dong-Sheng, and it looks like it was heavily inspired by The Meg, which seems fitting.

The movie stars Michelle Ye, Luo Li-Qun, Chen Wen-Jun and Lemon Li. There’s no word on when it will be released. I just think it’s funny that they were like, “You know what movie we should remake!? Shaktopus!” You know, because it has such a huge fan base. I guess if you enjoy silly D-movie monster action movies, this is for you!
