Trailer For THE CURED Shows Us What Happens When Zombies Return to Life

The Cured takes the zombie genre and does something a little different that hasn't really been done before. The story shows us what might happen if there was a cure for zombieism after a zombie outbreak. What would it be like for these rehabilitated zombies as they are reintroduced into society? This is very similar to a concept that a friend and I came up with over 15 years ago and when we went to pitch it around we were told that the zombie genre was dead. Now, they do it when the Zombie genre actually is starting to feel a little stale.

Anyway, the film actually looks pretty interesting and I'm curious to see how the full story plays out. We've got a trailer for you to watch for the film which stars Ellen PageSam KeeleyTom Vaughan-Lawlor, and Paula Malcomson. This is the feature film directorial debut of David Freyne, and here's the synopsis:

What happens when the undead return to life? In a world ravaged for years by a virus that turns the infected into zombie-like cannibals, a cure is at last found and the wrenching process of reintegrating the survivors back into society begins. Among the formerly afflicted is Senan (Sam Keeley), a young man haunted by the horrific acts he committed while infected. Welcomed back into the family of his widowed sister-in-law (Ellen Page), Senan attempts to restart his life—but is society ready to forgive him and those like him? Or will fear and prejudice once again tear the world apart? Pulsing with provocative parallels to our troubled times, The Cured is a smart, scary, and hauntingly human tale of guilt and redemption.

The Cured will be released on February 23, 2018. Watch the trailer and let us know if it looks like something you might want to watch.
