I remember when I first walked into a WeWork office to check it out, my first impression was that the place was an absolute joke. As I was taking the tour, I was wondering to myself why anyone would want to have office space there. I just didn’t dig the vibe.

Not long after that, I started hearing about all the drama going on within the company and we all saw how that played out. The whole story behind WeWork and the guy who created it is absolutely ridiculous. Well that ridiculous story is going to be covered in an upcoming Hulu documentary titled WeWork: Or the Making and Breaking of a $47 Billion Unicorn.

The doc explores “the rise and fall of one of the biggest corporate flameouts and venture capitalist bubbles in recent years – this is the story of WeWork and its hippie-messianic leader Adam Neumann who makes you beg the question, was he trying to create a cult?”

The film was directed by Jed Rothstein, and this trailer puts a focus on WeWork’s founder Adam and how he managed to convince a lot of people that WeWork was going to change the world, including an investor that gave him $4 billion to do whatever he wanted with.

The film features interviews with WeWork former employees they discuss how Adam’s erratic behavior led to the downfall of the company that ended in bankruptcy.

WeWork: Or the Making and Breaking of a $47 Billion Unicorn premieres on Hulu on April 2, 2021.
