Trailer For The Docuseries CURSED FILMS Explores the Legends and Myths Behind Cursed Horror Film Productions
I’ve been fascinated with legends and myths of cursed movie productions for a long time. 12 years ago around the time GeekTyrant was first launched, I wrote an article discussing some of these movie curses. I’ve actually been developing a podcast series that revolves around this topic as well, but now that might just be a waste of my time because Shudder is producing a five-episode docuseries titled Cursed films! Oh, and there’s a trailer for it that you can watch!
While I’m completely bummed out that my podcast is now pretty much obsolete. This docuseries looks great and I’ll be looking forward to watching it. There’s no doubt it’s going to be packed full of interesting information as they dig into these crazy and haunting events. Here’s the synopsis:
Cursed Films is a five-part documentary series which explores the myths and legends behind some of Hollywood’s notoriously “cursed” horror film producIons. From plane accidents and bombings during the making of The Omen, to the rumored use of real human skeletons on the set of Poltergeist, these stories are legendary amongst film fans and filmmakers alike. But where does the truth lie?
Cursed Films reveals the events that haunted these producIons through interviews with experts, witnesses and the cast, directors and producers who lived through the real-life events. Were these films really cursed, as many believe, or just the vicIms of bad luck and bizarre circumstances?
The show was written and directed by Jay Cheel and the episodes that focus on Poltergeist, The Omen, and The Exorcist will drop on Shudder on April 9th. The episodes that focus on The Crow and Twilight Zone: The Movie will arrive on April 16th. Check out the trailer!
