Trailer For The Dutch WWII Action Thriller THE FORGOTTEN BATTLE
Epic Pictures Group has released the trailer for the upcoming Dutch World War II action thriller, The Forgotten Battle, which tells the story of a massive battle that took place in The Netherlands.
September 1944, WWII. “The Allies have captured the port of Antwerp but the Germans still control the Scheldt estuary, preventing supplies reaching Antwerp and the Allied forces.
“Walcheren Island is key to the German's defence. Operation Market Garden is launched, hoping to penetrate directly into Germany from Arnhem in Holland.
“A glider from this operation is forced to crash land on Walcheren, leaving a handful of British troops trapped behind enemy lines.
“Meanwhile a Dutch teenager accidentally kills three Germans, causing a tragic chain of events. Also within the German staff is a Dutch soldier who now starts to question where his loyalties lie.”
This is a story I wasn’t familiar with and it looks like it will make for an interesting movie. The production value looks great as well! The filmmaking team actually set out to make a great historical war film.
The film was directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr., and it stars Gijs Blom, Jamie Flatters, and Susan Radder.
Epic Pictures will release The Forgotten Battle direct-to-VOD in the US starting August 6th, 2024.
