Trailer for the Dystopian Sci-Fi Thriller THE SHIFT with Sean Astin and Neal McDonough
Angel Studios has released the first trailer for its upcoming indie sci-fi thriller titled The Shift. The story follows a man who is banished to a tyrannical parallel Earth after he encounters a mysterious stranger with otherworldly powers. He finds himself fighting to get back to the woman he loves.
The film is described as "an uplifting story set in a sci-fi world, showing the struggle to maintain faith in God in the midst of great trial.” The movie was directed by Brock Heasley, and it stars Kristoffer Polaha, Neal McDonough, Elizabeth Tabish, and Rose Reid, with Sean Astin.
The Shift is a “modern day, sci-fi story of faith that takes a lot of its cues from the Book of Job. It follows a man named Kevin (Polaha) who finds himself in a dystopian world confronted by a mysterious stranger known as ‘The Benefactor’ who presents him with challenges as he fights to ‘shift realities’ and return to the woman he loves.”
This looks pretty wild as you don’t really see a lot of religious sci-fi movies being made. The Shift will be released in theaters in March 2024.
