Trailer for the Erotic Political Thriller STARS AT NOON Starring Margaret Qualley
A24 has released a trailer for the upcoming film Stars at Noon, an erotic political thriller from director Claire Denis. The film stars Margaret Qualley and Joe Alwyn in the lead roles.
The story is set in 1984 in Nicaragua, and it follows a mysterious English businessman and a headstrong American journalist who “strike up a highly sexualized romance as they soon become embroiled in a dangerous labyrinth of lies and conspiracies, then forced to try and escape the country.”
The synopsis reads: “A young American journalist (Qualley) stranded in present-day Nicaragua falls for an enigmatic Englishman (Alwyn) who seems like her best chance of escape. She soon realizes, though, that he may be in even greater danger than she is. Adapted from Denis Johnson's novel of the same name.”
The film also features appearances by Danny Ramirez, Benny Safdie, and John C. Reilly. It looks pretty boring to me, but if you like what you see, you can watch the film in theaters on October 14th on wait until it’s released on Hulu on October 28th.
