Trailer for the Fantastic Must-Watch Documentary STILL: A MICHAEL J. FOX MOVIE
Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for the upcoming documentary film Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie. I had the opportunity to watch this movie at Sundance earlier this year, and I absolutely loved it! I’ve been a fan of Michael J. Fox ever since I was a kid, and this film takes audiences on a wonderful and emotional journey through his life.
While I was a fan of Fox through the films he made and the characters he played in his career, I knew nothing about what kind of person he was like outside of that. This doc pulls open the curtain of his life and it invites fans to see who Fox really is as a person, the good, the bad, and the ugly. You can read my review of the film, here.
The film, which will incorporate documentary, archival and scripted elements, “will recount Fox’s extraordinary story in his own words — the improbable tale of an undersized kid from a Canadian army base who rose to the heights of stardom in 1980s Hollywood. The account of Fox’s public life, full of nostalgic thrills and cinematic gloss, will unspool alongside his never-before-seen private journey, including the years that followed his diagnosis, at 29, with Parkinson’s disease. Intimate and honest, and produced with unprecedented access to Fox and his family, the film will chronicle Fox’s personal and professional triumphs and travails and will explore what happens when an incurable optimist confronts an incurable disease. With a mix of adventure and romance, comedy and drama, watching the film will feel like … well, like a Michael J. Fox movie.”
It said in my review: “It’s such a great story and it’s told in an incredibly cool and engaging way! It uses footage from his projects, including behind-the-scenes footage, and mixes it together with footage shot for the doc. The whole story is told by Fox, though, in his own words.” You’ll get a taste of that in this trailer.
I also said: “The movie is an emotional and moving portrait of Fox’s life, but at the same time it is filled with humor that will make you laugh and it will fill you with nostalgia as it takes you back to the 80s and 90s.”
Still: A Michael J. Fox Story will be released on May 12th on Apple TV+, and I can’t wait for all of you to get to see it.
