Trailer For The FLATLINERS Remake With Ellen Page and Diego Luna
"It's a good day to die!"
Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for their remake of the classic 1990 film Flatliners and I'm not impressed. I am a big fan of the original Joel Schumacher-directed film that starred Keifer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, William Baldwin, Oliver Platt, and Kevin Bacon. I'm not really that impressed by what I'm seeing in the trailer for this remake, but maybe the movie will end up being better than the trailer. I'll still see it because I'm curious, but I doubt it will be as good as the original.
The new Flatliners film stars Ellen Page (Inception), Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries), James Norton (Happy Valley) and Kiersey Clemens (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising).
In Flatliners, five medical students, hoping to gain insight into the mystery of what lies beyond the confines of life, embark on a daring and dangerous experiment. By stopping their hearts for short periods of time, each triggers a near-death experience. As the investigation becomes more and more perilous, they are forced to confront the sins of their pasts, as well as contend with the paranormal consequences of trespassing to the other side.
Flatliners is being directed by Niels Arden Oplev, who directed the original Swedish version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. With him at the helm, I thought the movie would be somewhat decent.
Flatliners will be released on September 29th. Watch the trailer for yourself and let us know what you think. Does it look like something you might enjoy watching?
