Shudder has released the first trailer for an upcoming horror thriller titled Host. The film comes from director Rob Savage, and the whole film was shot using the Zoom video chat service.

The story centers around “six friends who hire a medium to hold a séance over Zoom during lockdown, but they get far more than they bargain for as things quickly go wrong. When an evil spirit starts invading their homes, they begin to realize they might not survive the night.”

The movie has been getting rave reviews from people who have seen it. From what I’ve seen in the trailer, it looks decent enough. I’ll eventually give it a shot based on the praise I’ve been hearing.

The movie stars Haley BishopRadina DrandovaEdward LinardJemma MooreCaroline Ward, and Emma Louise Webb. They all operated their own cameras and helped pull off their own practical effects, and also did the lighting on their own scenes. The director never set foot in the same room as his actors at any point during production. He directed them remotely.

Host is currently streamimng on Shudder, so if you want to check it out you should!
