Trailer for the Indie Horror Film THE OBSERVANCE Starring Ted Raimi

Beyond Casual Media has released the first official trailer for The Observance, a chilling indie psychological horror centered on a ruthless religious cult.

Directed by Robert Hollocks and co-written with Amy Rhinehart Bailey, the film follows Madison Neubauer, who wakes from a five-year coma to discover her husband, daughter, and entire town under the control of an enigmatic cult leader.

“After five years in a coma, Madison Neubauer awakens... only to discover that her home and family are ensnared by ‘The Observance,’ a ruthless religious cult hell-bent on preserving its darkest secrets.”

The film promises psychological twists and unsettling revelations, with Ted Raimi taking on the role of Richard Abernathy alongside Kate Dailey as Madison.

The story explores themes of truth and belief in a fractured world. “The Observance is the story of a woman who awakens from a five-year coma after a terrible car accident to find her world drastically altered. An enigmatic, Svengali-like religious leader has taken over her home and her husband and daughter have fallen completely under his control.

“But it’s not just her own family, the entire town is under the influence of his insidious cult. Ready to uncover the truth, she underestimates just how far the cult will go to protect its secrets. The Observance drops right into the middle of a cultural identity crisis: where truth is up for grabs, belief is a battleground, and everyone's trying to figure out where they belong.”

The film premiered at the Berlin Indie Film Festival earlier this year and is set for release later in 2025. While no official date has been announced, the trailer and an eerie viral cult website are already fueling anticipation among horror fans.
