A24 has released a trailer for an upcoming film titled The Inspection, which is a biographical drama about a young gay Black man who joins the Marines to prove himself. The film stars Jeremy Pope and Gabrielle Union and as you’ll see, it looks like they give great perormances.

In Elegance Bratton’s deeply moving film inspired by his own story, a young, gay Black man, rejected by his mother and with few options for his future, decides to join the Marines, doing whatever it takes to succeed in a system that would cast him aside. But even as he battles deep-seated prejudice and the grueling routines of basic training, he finds unexpected camaraderie, strength, and support in this new community, giving him a hard-earned sense of belonging that will shape his identity and forever change his life.

The Inspection is written and directed by Elegance Bratton, whose real-life story inspired the film. The movie also stars Raúl Castillo (We the Animals), McCaul Lombardi (American Honey), Aaron Dominguez, Eman Esfandi, Aubrey Joseph (Cloak & Dagger), Andrew Kai, and Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo).

The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 18.
