Trailer for the JAWS-Inspired Stage Play THE SHARK IS BROKEN
A trailer has been released for a new stage play inspired by the making of Steven Spielberg’s classic 1975 film Jaws. The play is titled The Shark Is Broken, and it’s currently playing in the West End in London. It looks like fun!
Dive into the drama behind the scenes of Jaws! Martha's Vineyard, 1974: shooting on Jaws has stalled. The film's lead actors – Robert Shaw, Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss – are stuck on a boat, at the mercy of foul weather and a faulty mechanical co-star. Awash with both alcohol and ambition, three hammered sharks start to bare their teeth…
The play stars Ian Shaw as his father Robert Shaw, and he is joined by Liam Murray Scott as Richard Dreyfuss and Demetri Goritsas as Roy Scheider. The play is landing some great reviews, and it seems like it might be worth checking out if the opportunity ever presents itself.
The Shark is Broken is directed by UK actor and theater director Guy Masterson, director of a few other plays including One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and 12 Angry Men. The script is co-written by Joseph Nixon and Ian Shaw.
The play is playing at the Ambassadors Theatre in London until February 13th, 2022. For more info and tickets, visit the play's official website.
