Trailer For The Latest Film Adaptation of THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO
Samuel Goldwyn Films has released the US trailer for the new film adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ The Count of Monte Cristo.
In the French film, “The target of a sinister plot, young Edmond Dantès (Pierre Niney) is arrested on his wedding day for a crime he did not commit.
“After fourteen years in the island prison of Château d'If, he manages a daring escape. Now rich beyond his dreams, he assumes the identity of the Count of Monte Cristo and exacts his revenge on the three men who betrayed him...”
This story has been adapted many times before with the 1934 movie with Robert Donat and Elissa Landi, the 1975 movie with Richard Chamberlain and Trevor Howard, and the 2002 film with Jim Caviezel and Guy Pearce.
The Count of Monte Cristo is co-written and co-directed by Alexandre de La Patellière and Matthieu Delaporte (The Three Musketeers). It stars Pierre Niney as Edmond, Anaïs Demoustier as Mercédès, Bastien Bouillon, Anamaria Vartolomei, Laurent Lafitte, and Julien De Saint Jean.
The Count of Monte Cristo movie will be released in select theaters on December 20th, 2024. It looks like a great adaptation!
