Trailer For The Mental Health Doc JUST LIKE YOU: ANXIETY + DEPRESSION - "This Film Will Save Lives"
I’ve got a trailer here for an upcoming mental health documentary titled Just Like You: Anxiety + Depression. I constantly have my bouts with anxiety and depression. I’ll admit, I don’t talk about it much with anyone, and I tend to hide what I’m going through when I’m right in the middle of experiencing it. I don’t know, I just feel like there are bigger issues and problems in the world that I don’t want to make a big deal about what I’m struggling with. Then I see a trailer like this for a movie and I think maybe I should talk about it? I don’t know.
Anyway, the film comes from Jen Greenstreet, a former prosecuting attorney who decided to start a film company to help with mental health issues, and Just Like You is a feature-length doc that came from that venture.
The doc comes with the tagline that reads, "This film will save lives” and here’s the synopsis:
8 brave kids, an Emmy award winning journalist and a clinical psychologist at Columbia University take on the fear and stigma plaguing the mental health community by immersing us in life with an anxiety disorder & depression in a way that leaves us enlightened, empowered, equipped to either live life or lift up life for those with these challenging and even life threatening conditions. We are losing too many of our children, friends and family living with anxiety disorders and depression to death by suicide. Those in this film are striving to help us overcome our deeply ingrained fears, concerns and stigma about anxiety disorders and depression. They are utilizing the power of film to provide a clear blueprint for us to support people living with an anxiety disorder and depression and prevent death by suicide.
Just Like You: Anxiety + Depression was directed by filmmaker Jen Greenstreet, and it’s set to be released in theaters and on VOD on March 8th, 2022. I’ll be looking forward to watching this.
