Trailer For The New Zealand Street Gang Film SAVAGE

A trailer has been released for an upcoming film titled Savage, the story of which was inspired by the history of New Zealand street gangs and the country’s notorious Boys Homes.

Savage follows a character named Danny across “three decades of his life: from the abusive state-run boys’ institutions of the sixties; to the emerging urban gang scene in the seventies where disenfranchised teenagers created their own families on the streets; to the eighties when gangs became more structured, criminal, and violent. Together the three chapters of Danny’s life combine to create a deeper look at a boy who grows up to become the brutal enforcer of a gang; and understand how he got there.”

The film comes from writer and director Sam Kelly, who is making his feature film directorial debut and it looks like a great movie worth checking out.

Savage stars Jake Ryan as Danny, John Tui as Moses, Chelsie Preston Crayford and Olly Presling.

Savage will be released in the US direct-to-VOD on January 29th, 2021.
