Trailer For The Oscar-Nominated Time-Loop Short Film TWO DISTANT STRANGERS
Netflix has shared a trailer for the acclaimed time loop short film titled Two Distant Strangers. The short has been nominated for Best Live Action Short at the Academy Awards this year.
In the film, “cartoonist Carter James' repeated attempts to get home to his dog are thwarted by a recurring deadly encounter that forces him to re-live the same awful day over and over again.” The day that James is living over and over again involves him being hunted and killed by a cop.
The movie was co-directed by writer Travon Free (Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, Wilmore) and producer Martin Desmond Roe (We Are the Champions, Wiz Khalifa: Behind the Cam). It stars Joey Bada$$ and Andrew Howard, with Zaria Simone. The creative team said in a statement:
"When we set out to create this short in the middle of the simultaneous pandemic and social justice crises, we didn’t know what to expect… [We've] been so filled with gratitude to see so many people responding to this story of resilience and perseverance."
Netflix will debut Two Distant Strangers on April 9th, 2021.
