Trailer for the Pirate Action Adventure Movie THE BLUFF with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Karl Urban
Prime Video released the first official trailer for The Bluff, and it looks like a gritty, full-throttle action-adventure that leans hard into survival, family, and buried violence clawing its way back to the surface.
Directed by Frank E. Flowers, the film transports viewers to the late 19th century Caribbean, where paradise doesn’t stay peaceful for long.
The story centers on Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden, played by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, a former pirate who’s done everything she can to leave bloodshed behind. She’s built a quiet life in the Cayman Islands with her husband T.H., their son Isaac, and her sister-in-law Elizabeth.
That fragile calm shatters the moment her old captain Connor shows up, portrayed by Karl Urban, dragging vengeance and violence straight to her doorstep.
“This only ends with the sand soaked in blood.” The synopsis reads: “Ercell thought she had escaped her violent past as a pirate, finding peace in the Cayman Islands with her loving husband T.H. (Ismael Cruz Cordova), their son Isaac (Vedanten Naidoo) and her sister-in-law Elizabeth (Safia Oakley-Green).
“When her notorious former captain, Connor (Karl Urban), arrives seeking revenge, Ercell's world is torn apart. Forced to confront the demons she’s tried to bury, Ercell is thrust back into a deadly game of secrets and survival.
“Armed with lethal swordsmanship, cunning traps, and a fierce will to protect those she loves, she wages a brutal war against Connor's merciless crew. Ercell's fight to save her family becomes a journey of redemption, as she reclaims her power & embraces the warrior she once was.”
The Bluff looks like it could be a really good movie. Shot on location in Australia and on Cayman Brac Island, the film makes the most of its natural settings, from Skull Cave to the towering coastal bluffs that give the movie its name.
The film is produced by AGBO heads Joe and Anthony Russo and it was originally set to star Zoe Saldaña before Chopra Jonas stepped into the role ahead of filming.
The Bluff is skipping theaters entirely and heading straight to streaming. Prime Video will debut the film worldwide on February 26th, 2026.
