Trailer For THE PORTABLE DOOR A Fantasy Adventure Film with Christoph Waltz and Sam Neill
Madman Films and Sky Cinema are set to take you on a wild ride with the upcoming Australian fantasy adventure movie, The Portable Door. Based on the popular book series by Tom Holt, the story follows the journey of two interns, Paul Carpenter and Sophie, as they begin working at the mysterious company J.W. Wells & Co, run by the nefarious duo, Humphrey Wells (Christoph Waltz) and Dennis Tanner (Sam Neill).
The story is a tale of magic, middle management, and strange goings-on at a company that is not what it seems. With the help of an enchanted towel, the duo embarks on an adventure to uncover the secrets of this strange enterprise.
The Portable Door is directed by Australian filmmaker Jeffrey Walker, who has previously directed several TV series and movies and has been a part of projects such as Young Rock, Lambs of God, and Difficult People. The screenplay is written by Leon Ford and this is the synopsis:
Starting a new job is always stressful, but when Paul Carpenter arrives at the office of J.W. Wells he has no idea what trouble lies in store. He is about to discover that the apparently respectable establishment now paying his salary is in fact a front for a deeply sinister organisation with a mighty peculiar agenda. Along with his new colleague Sophie, Paul embarks on an adventure with the help of an enchanted towel to uncover the secrets of this strange enterprise and reveal what happens at night in these dark, forbidden corridors.
The film is produced by Todd Fellman and Blanca Lista, developed as a "Stan Original" film, and will be released in Australian and UK cinemas starting April 7th, 2023. With an all-star cast that also includes Miranda Otto as Countess Judy, Damon Herriman, Sophie Wilde, Jessica De Gouw, Rachel House, Patrick Gibson, and Christopher Sommers, this movie is described as a “family comedy that invites you into a world of fantasy and madness where all coincidences are orchestrated by a very strange company.”
The film is set to hit UK and Australian theaters in April 2023. Unfortunately, no US release date yet.
