Trailer For The Ridley Scott-Produced Post WWII Film THE AFTERMATH

Fox Searchlight has released the first trailer for a new film set short after the events of World War II called The Aftermath. The stars Keira Knightley, Jason Clarke, and Alexander Skarsgård, and it tells the uncomfortable story of a group of people that end up sharing a house together in Germany. Here’s the synopsis:

THE AFTERMATH is set in postwar Germany in 1946. Rachael Morgan (Keira Knightley) arrives in the ruins of Hamburg in the bitter winter, to be reunited with her husband Lewis (Jason Clarke), a British colonel charged with rebuilding the shattered city. But as they set off for their new home, Rachael is stunned to discover that Lewis has made an unexpected decision: They will be sharing the grand house with its previous owners, a German widower (Alexander Skarsgård) and his troubled daughter. In this charged atmosphere, enmity and grief give way to passion and betrayal.

The movie is based on the 2013 book of the same by Rhidian Brook and Ridley Scott is a producer on the project. The film was directed by James Kent (Testament of Youth) and it looks intriguing, especially with its cast.

The Aftermath will be released in theaters on April 26th, 2019.
