Trailer for the Russo Bros. Produced Action Thriller MOSUL Involves a War Against ISIS
Netflix has released the first trailer for the upcoming action-thriller Mosul, which comes from producers Joe and Anthony Russo and director Matthew Michael Carnahan. Carnahan is an acclaimed screenwriter (The Kingdom, Lions for Lambs, World War Z, Deepwater Horizon, 21 Bridges), who is making his feature directorial debut.
Mosul tells the extraordinary true story of a heroic rogue squadron who are fighting against ISIS to liberate the Iraqi city from thousands of ISIS militants. The synopsis reads:
When ISIS took their homes, their families and their city, one group of men fought to take it all back. After inexperienced Iraqi cop Kawa (Adam Bessa) is rescued from a harrowing firefight by the elite Nineveh SWAT team, he's quickly inducted into the rogue squadron, a band of ten brothers-in-arms led by the wise Major Jasem (Suhail Dabbach). Always under constant threat of attack, the specialized unit embarks on a dangerous guerrilla operation, determined to wipe out an enemy base and restore order to the lawless territory.
The film looks like it tells a great story that will be filled with lots of intense and gritty action. The movie was shot entirely in Arabic, and the cast includes Suhail Dabbach, Adam Bessa, Is'haq Elias, Hayat Kamille, Waleed Elgadi, Thaer Al-Shayei, Ben Affan, and Mohimen Mahbuba.
Netflix will debut Mosul streaming on November 26th, Thanksgiving day.
