Trailer For The Thriller WHAT COMES AROUND About a Teen Girl Who Meets The Wrong Guy on The Internet

IFC Films has released the trailer for an indie thriller titled What Comes Around, and it follows a young teen girl who meets a guy on the Internet and strikes up a relationship with him over the phone. As you might expect, the whole situation turns into a nightmare.

The film comes from director Amy Redford, the daughter of Robert Redford, and it’s described as an “immersive thriller” about a young love affair that “becomes a menacing game of cat and mouse. Nothing and no one are as they seem…”

The director explained that "One moment we think we know where these characters are going; the next, all we know for sure is that the intricacies of family often lie just out of reach."

In the film, “A teenager and her cellphone. It's a worrying combination for many parents, and when Anna tells her mother, Beth (Summer Phoenix), that she's met a boy online, Beth goes on full alert. It turns out Anna's new crush is not a boy but a man — 28 years old, and saying all the right things to a girl on the verge of 17 as she cradles her phone in her bedroom. Then, without invitation, there he is, on the family's doorstep.”

The film stars Grace Van Dien as Anna, Summer Phoenix as Beth, Reina Hardesty, Jesse Garcia, and Kyle Gallner as Eric, Anna’s boyfriend.

It looks like the movie is going to have quite a few interesting twists and turns, and there’s more going on in the story than meets the eye. This actually looks like a it could be a really good and intense movie!

IFC Films will debut What Comes Around in theaters starting on August 4th, 2023.
