Trailer for THE THURSDAY MURDER CLUB Promises a Hilariously Twisty Whodunit
Netflix has unveiled the official full trailer for The Thursday Murder Club, and it looks like a quirky, murder-filled good time.
Directed by Chris Columbus, the filmmaker behind Home Alone and Harry Potter, this upcoming mystery comedy follows four spirited retirees who get a bit more than they bargained for when a murder mystery lands right on their doorstep.
Based on Richard Osman's hit novel, the film stars Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie as the curious crew who turn their hobby of solving cold cases into a real-life investigation when a local developer turns up dead with a mysterious photo next to the body.
The Thursday Murder Club “follows four irrepressible retirees - Elizabeth (Mirren), Ron (Brosnan), Ibrahim (Kingsley) and Joyce (Imrie) - who spend their time solving cold case murders for fun.
“When an unexplained death occurs right on their own doorstep, their casual sleuthing takes a thrilling turn as they find themselves with a real whodunit on their hands.”
With a stellar supporting cast that includes Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, David Tennant, Tom Ellis, Richard E. Grant, and Jonathan Pryce, there’s no shortage of suspects or suspects-who-might-know-too-much.
The Thursday Murder Club was adapted by Katy Brand and Suzanne Heathcote, with Columbus also producing alongside Jennifer Todd. This Netflix and Amblin Entertainment production is set to hit the streamer on August 28, 2025.
