Trailer for the Courtroom Drama THE MAURITANIAN Starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Jodie Foster
STX Films has released the trailer for an upcoming new film titled The Mauritanian, which is a courtroom drama based on a true-life event. The film tells the story of Mohamedou Ould Slahi, played by Tahar Rahim (A Prophet ), who was held captive and tortured by the U.S. government in Guantanamo Bay detention camp for 10 years without charge or trial after the September 11th terrorist attacks.
The movie has an impressive cast that includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Jodie Foster, and Shailene Woodley. Cumberbatch takes on the role of the attorney working against Slahi. Foster and Woodley are working for him. Here’s the synopsis for the film:

The film was directed by Kevin Macdonald, and it also stars Zachary Levi and Saamer Usmani. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on February 19, 2021.
