Trailer for the Upcoming War Drama THE OUTPOST with Orlando Bloom and Scott Eastwood

The first trailer has been released for an intense-looking new war drama titled The Outpost, which tells the story of the “most heroic battle of the Afghanistan wars.” The movie stars Orlando Bloom and Scott Eastwood, and it looks like a movie that I’d enjoy watching. I like war films, though.

The movie is based on CNN news correspondent Jake Tapper’s New York Times bestselling non-fiction book The Outpost: An Untold Story Of American Valorthe film tells “the epic true story of a small unit of U.S. soldiers, alone at the remote Combat Outpost Keating, located deep in the valley of three mountains in Afghanistan, battles to defend against an overwhelming force of Taliban fighters in a coordinated attack. The Battle of Kamdesh, as it was known, was the bloodiest American engagement of the Afghan War in 2009 and Bravo Troop 3-61 CAV became one of the most decorated units of the 19-year conflict.”

The Outpost also stars Caleb Landry Jones (Get Out), Jack Kesy (Without Remorse), Taylor John Smith (Hunter Killer), Jacob Scipio (Bad Boys for Life), and Milo Gibson (Hacksaw Ridge).

The film was directed by Rod Lurie (The Contender, The Last Castle) from a screenplay adapted by Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson (The Fighter). The film will be making its debut in theaters and on VOD on Friday, July 3rd.
