Trailer for the Video Game Doc MAN VS. SNAKE: THE LONG TWISTED TALE OF NIBBLER

If you liked the 2007 video game documentary King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, you'll want to watch Man Vs. Snake: The Long Twisted Tale of Nibbler. It tells the outrageous and inspirational true story of one man's quest for the highest video game score...EVER!

The movie is set to screen at the FilmQuest Film Festival later this month, and here's the full synopsis that offers up even more details on the fascinating story:

MAN VS SNAKE is a documentary feature film the quest for the highest video game score of all time. The film tells the story of Timothy McVey (not to be confused with the Oklahoma City bomber) who in 1984 was the first person in history to score over one billion points on an arcade game (in over 44 hours of continuous play) and his present day odyssey to better his score and set a new world record. Along the way, we meet players from Canada, Italy and Japan all with a connection to the video game Nibbler and all with interesting lives and aspirations of their own. The doc features intimate interviews with the players, days-long back-breaking marathon attempts and unique archival footage from the 1980s. While the film is very entertaining, it also seeks to explore the central theme of one man's pursuit of his dreams and the lengths he will go to realize them. Even if you're not a gamer yourself, we feel you will enjoy this film, as it provides a privileged view of a unique subculture.

This looks like a great doc that is worth checking out. I enjoy this kind of stuff, and I think you'll like what you see in the trailer below, especially if you're a big fan of old-school video games.
