Trailer for Thomas Jane's Cop Drama CROWN VIC, Which Follows a Veteran LAPD Cop and His Trainee on an Intense Night on the Job
We’ve got the first full trailer for you to check out from the cop drama movie Crown Vic. The film stars Thomas Jane (The Mist, The Expanse) as a veteran cop who is tasked with a training rookie cop, played by Luke Kleintank (The Man in the High Castle). The men take to the streets of Los Angeles on the hunt for two cop killers over the course of one tense night that will prove to the rookie whether he is cut out for this job or not.
Here’s the rundown for the film:
Crown Vic takes us through one memorable night in the life of veteran patrol officer Ray Mandel and his trainee, ambitious rookie cop Nick Holland in the LAPD's Olympic Division. With two cop killers on the loose and hunting for more targets, Mandel and Holland must contend with a city about to boil over, as well as Jack VanZandt, an unhinged rogue cop out for payback running wild in their patrol zone. As the night wears on, Mandel finds himself in a desperate race against the clock to find a missing girl as he and Holland prowl the dangerous streets of LA in their police car, protected by only a few thin sheets of metal and glass…
The film also stars David Krumholtz, Bridget Moynahan, Gregg Bello, Scottie Thompson, and Josh Hopkins. I feel like I’ve seen movies like this before — Training Day, End of Watch, which were both really good, and each brought something original to their stories. So this could just be a copycat, or it could be interesting if it’s done right, and has something new to offer. Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think.
Crown Vic hits select theaters on November 8th.
