A trailer has been released for the Tubi Original movie, Checkmate. The police thriller follows a detective who is playing by the rules of Chess to solve a serial killer murder spree. Joyce Glenn stars in the film alongside Dorien Wilson, Lorenzo Lamas, Andra Fuller, and Sarah Pribis.

It’s written and directed by filmmaker Jamal Hill (After Autumn, Streets, Brotherly Love).

The synopsis reads, “A detective (Joyce Glenn) teams up with her estranged father, a chess master, to stop a serial killer who uses the game to select his victims.”

This looks like your typical TV movie, but it may provide a few fun twists and turns. Check out the trailer below and watch CheckMate streaming on Tubi on April 11th.
