Trailer for WWE's Horror Thriller LEPRECHAUN: ORIGINS

WWE Studios has released the first trailer for their horror movie Leprechaun: Origins, which is a reboot of the original cult franchise. I've enjoyed the Leprechaun films that have been made over the years because of how absurd they were. I was especially entertained by the cheesy humor. The reboot seems to have ditched the humor aspect of the franchise and the filmmakers seem to be going for more scares this time around. As much as I enjoy horror films, this doesn't look that good to me.

"Leprechaun: Origins concerns two young couples who, while backpacking through the Irish countryside, 'quickly discover the idyllic land is not what it appears to be be when [a] town’s residents offer the hikers an old cabin at the edge of the woods. Soon, the friends will find that one of Ireland’s most famous legends is a terrifying reality.'”

The movie was directed by Zach Lipovsky, and it stars WWE wrestler Dylan “Hornsoggle” Postl, Stephanie Bennett (Grave Encounters 2), Andrew Dunbar (Alien Trespass), Melissa Roxburgh (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days), and Brendan Fletcher (Freddy vs Jason).

Leprechaun: Origins will be released on VOD on August 26th, followed by a Blu-ray release on September 30th.
