Trailer Released For Frank Miller and John Romita, Jr.'s SUPERMAN: YEAR ONE

DC Comics has released a trailer for the upcoming comic book series Superman: Year One, which comes from writer Frank Miller and artist John Romita Jr.

The comic will be published by DC Comics’ Black Label imprint and it will retell the origin story of Superman but with a different vision. Here’s the synopsis that was released.

Superman: Year One is a coming-of-age story for the future Man of Steel, featuring a young alien-boy just trying to find his place in a new world. Faced with the need to hide his heritage and powers in order to survive, Clark will find his humanity through the grounding of the Kent family and the relationships that will define the man he will become. Told by two of the most revered voices in comics, Superman: Year One is more than a superhero story – it’s about the choices made by Clark Kent on his path to becoming a legend. It’s a testament to the importance of choosing to become a hero.”

Miller has done some great things with Batman in the past with Batman: Year One and The Dark Knight Returns and it’ll be interesting to see how he handles the story of Superman. I’m sure that he’s going to bring some new elements to the story to give us something different than what has already come before, and I can’t wait to see what they are.

This is a three issue story arc and the first issue is set to be released in June. That will be followed by issue No. 2 in August and issue No. 3 in October. The complete three-issue comic will be released as a single volume in November.

From the creators behind The Dark Knight Returns and Kick-Ass comes a powerful new look at the early days of the Man of Steel. Superman: Year One is a prestige format three-part comic series by Frank Miller and John Romita, Jr.
